“Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.”
― Peter A. Levine
Born and raised in China, I once believed my childhood was ‘normal’—until my journey of self-discovery began after the sudden death of someone I deeply loved in 2015, when I was 23. The loss brought such profound despair and suffering that I desperately sought a way to make sense of it all. This led me to my first Vipassana meditation as taught by S.G. Goenka in 2016—an intense 10-day silent retreat—as my very first meditation experience, despite having no prior practice. It was through this that I first encountered the Buddha’s wisdom—the cause of suffering and the path to its end. I am forever grateful for this teaching, which became the foundation for everything that followed. This self-inquiry journey into my own suffering led me to the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (since 2019) and Dr. Gabor Maté’s work (since 2021), through which I uncovered the roots of my struggles—ADHD, CPTSD, and a dysfunctional childhood(developmental trauma). In 2024, while training in Compassionate Inquiry with Dr. Maté, I also discovered my ‘rainforest mind’ (giftedness), which made everything click.Through years of exploration, I’ve tried nearly every therapeutic and healing modality. What I found most transformative wasn’t any advanced technique, but simply a safe, attuned, and compassionate presence—where I could fully be myself.I came to realize that the body holds all the answers, if only we listen. As Dr. Maté explains in When the Body Says No, when we don’t know how to say no, our body will say it for us through illness. Likewise, our body holds the ‘yes’—guiding us toward what truly aligns with us. This understanding deepened through my professional training in Compassionate Inquiry (2023-2024), the Wayfinder Coaching program (2025) by Dr. Martha Beck, Somatic Experiencing (2025-2028) by Dr. Peter Levine and my work facilitating meditation circles.Finding people who truly see me—especially as a highly sensitive person with a deep commitment to integrity—has been life-changing. I believe that being compassionately witnessed is essential for every person’s healthy development. It is the safe attachment many of us missed in childhood—the very roots that ground us in this world. My mission is to pass on this gift of being truly seen, offering it as a soothing balm for wounded hearts and a warm bath for tired souls.Since childhood, I’ve felt a deep calling to make the world a better place. I believe the root solution to all suffering lies in learning to love and accept ourselves—to recognize our innate worth. When we witness ourselves with compassion, we can truly see the goodness in others and care for our very own Mother Earth. As my teacher Thich Nhat Hanh beautifully taught:> “Peace in oneself, peace in the world.”This is the mission I dedicate my life to.
"Yingke led the session with great sensitivity. I usually don't trust new people easily and almost 'allergic' to non-authenticity. With her it was nothing like that. She gave me a safe environment and allowed me to be honest with myself and with her. I enjoyed the feeling of exploring how the physical body reacts to emotional experiences. This search for signs from the body was fascinating and I learned a lot from it. It surprised me that you can get there so fast!" --- T, Amsterdam"I have always felt completely welcome to be exactly myself in Yingke's presence. There's a loving, grounded, compassionate quality to her presence that is very soothing and makes it easy for one to open up and be vulnerable. Her gift of following her intuition regarding where to take the conversation at each point, asking insightful questions or offering timely reflections does the rest... I have reached deep insights regarding my own mechanisms in sessions with her." --- M, Barcelona"With Yingke, it doesn’t feel like you are talking to a therapist, but feels like visiting a friend. A real, kind person who makes you feel welcome, especially when she receives you in her lovely home. That’s what makes these presence-based sessions so powerful: it feels safe, familiar, and informal. It makes you feel like being seen for real, very important in the healing process. " --- S, Amsterdam
I believe all suffering comes from disconnection from our essence—the truth of who we are. As A.H. Almaas teaches, "Disconnection is at the source of suffering." True healing isn’t just about better coping strategies but about returning home to ourselves."You will know the truth, and the truth will liberate you." – John 8:32"Only when compassion is present will people allow themselves to see the Truth." – A.H. AlmaasBesides professional training and meditation experience, my work is deeply informed by my own journey through:
- seeing through the illusion of 'not good enough' and shedding the lifelong shame around it
- navigating life as neurospicy, gifted & highly sensitive
- breaking free from east Asian cultural conditioning as an insecure overachiever with imposter syndrome
- healing attachment wounds, developmental trauma & panic attacks
- letting go of people-pleasing & setting boundaries with confidence
